Field Safety Specialist

Job SummaryThe Training specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering safety training and programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role plays a critical part in promoting a culture of safety within the organization by equipping employees with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their jobs safely. The specialist will also manage third‑party safety compliance websites for many customers.
Key Responsibilities- Training Development:
Design and develop safety training materials and programs tailored to the needs of various departments and roles, including job‑specific and general trainings. - Develop Training Matrix:
Continuously update the training matrix based on job titles. - Conduct Trainings:
Facilitate engaging and informative trainings and workshops on safety policies, procedures, OSHA/ANSI standards, and best practices. - Specialized Training Topics:
- Fall Protection
- Tower Climb and Rescue
- Rigging
- CPR/First Aid/AED
- OSHA 10
- Radio Frequency Safety and Awareness
- Electrical Safety
- Other
- Compliance Monitoring:
Ensure that training programs comply with relevant safety regulations and standards and keep up with current requirements. - Site and Location Visits:
Conduct spot safety inspections at job sites and locations using checklists and knowledge of safety policies to verify adherence to company procedures and applicable local, state, federal, and customer safety requirements. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of training, participant attendance, and compliance with safety training requirements, including tracking of current employee certifications, expiration dates, and renewal needs. - Collaboration:
Work with management, HR, and Safety Ambassadors to identify training needs and develop strategies to improve workplace safety. - Promote Safety Culture:
Advocate for a proactive safety culture by encouraging employee participation and feedback regarding safety practices. - Continuous Improvement:
Stay current on industry trends, safety regulations, and training methodologies to continually enhance training programs. - Incident and Accident Investigations:
Assist in investigating safety incidents and accidents, analyze data, and provide recommendations for improved training and safety practices. - Claim Handling:
Be trained and knowledgeable in insurance claim processes and procedures, acting as a backup when necessary.
- Minimum of two years of tower‑climbing experience.
- Required certification must be obtained within the first six months of employment (certification cannot be issued without prior experience).
