Medical Assistant Position

The Lake Hazel Clinic is now hiring for a team-oriented and efficient Medical Assistant for a new Family and Sports Medicine provider!

This position will support a new Family & Sports Medicine provider to the clinic and will also work with other MAs and providers in the clinic. Please make sure you meet the Minimum Requirements below before applying. CNA work experience does not qualify applicants for the MA position. This clinic offers family medicine to patients seeking help managing their wellness and chronic medical conditions.

The clinic is surrounded by an underserved residential area that continues to experience growth and development of new housing. The Lake Hazel clinic has procedure rooms, lab and digital X-Ray services on site, in addition to a fully staffed Urgent Care facility open every day 8am – 8pm.

In supporting the provider you will room patients, collect vital signs, medication review, perform phlebotomy, and administer immunizations/vaccines. You will also complete injections, complete chart prep, complete in-basket tasks and orders, including prior authorizations. You may help cover for lunches and sick calls. You will enjoy learning more about the provider and related preferences and takes feedback in stride. An ideal candidate will have phlebotomy experience, a friendly and positive attitude, is a team player, is patient-centered, and reliable.

You will also have excellent organizational and prioritizing skills, strong communication skills, and likes to have fun and enjoys potlucks!

40 hours/week, 4 - 10 hour shifts - Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Thursdays off. Around the hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm. Exact schedule is still being determined. This will mostly be a set schedule, but flexibility will be needed at times based on patient scheduling and clinic staffing needs.

High School Diploma or equivalent required  certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health career Association (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA).

New Graduates:
1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school.
2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.

Medical Assistant with

Experience:

1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
