Network Cabling Technician - L2 (Onsite)
Location: Boise, (
100% Onsite – Local candidates highly preferred)
Duration: 6 Months (12/31/2025 – 06/29/2026)
Rate: $27.00/hr max
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Level 2 Network Cabling Technician to support the development and maintenance of our network infrastructure. This role is hands-on, requiring expertise in both copper and fiber optic cabling within an enterprise LAN/WAN environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation & Physical Infrastructure
- Cable Management: Run, pull, and splice copper and fiber optic cables, including CAT5, CAT6
, and other low-voltage cabling. - Hardware Assembly: Assemble and arrange equipment racks, patch panels, and materials for network deployment.
- Splicing: Perform precise terminations and splicing for fiber optic connections.
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- System Testing: Assess LAN/WAN systems to identify bottlenecks and eliminate connectivity issues.
- Fiber Support: Use specialized test equipment to identify faulty cables and perform necessary replacements.
Upgrades: Assist in the ongoing improvement of network communications to ensure high performance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Cabling Expertise: Proven experience with CAT5/CAT6 and fiber optics.
- Tools: Proficiency with cable testers, crimpers, and fiber splicing kits.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of basic LAN/WAN architecture.
- Physical Ability: Ability to work onsite, move equipment, and manage cable runs in a physical data center or office environment.
