Senior Digital Signage Operations Specialist; Scala​/BrightSign​/Broadsign​/Sedna On-Call Contractor

We manage flagship exterior LED displays in a premier, high-traffic metropolitan market powered by various Digital Sign CMS (Content Management Systems). We're looking for a Senior Digital Signage Operations Specialist to handle content programming, dynamic ad swaps, and schedule updates on an on-call basis.

To be considered, you must demonstrate hands-on experience scheduling video content in Scala, Bright Sign, Broadsign, or Sedna. This is not a social media role.

  Independent Contractor (1099) | Remote (US-based)
• Coverage Window:
  Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM ET
• Weekly Retainer: $1,100/week, paid monthly in advance. Covers your availability during the coverage window plus up to 8 hours of active work.

  $110/hour for active work beyond 8 hours in a given week
• Outside the Window:
  Evening, weekend, and holiday requests are optional. If you accept, $150/hour (1-hour minimum).
• Time Off:
  Retainer continues for up to 2 weeks of scheduled time off per year.

• Not Social Media:
  This is not social media management or post scheduling. Experience with tools like Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, Sprout Social, or Meta Business Suite does not qualify.
• Light Workload:
  Expect roughly 5–6 hours of active work in a typical week. You're paid for being available, so slow weeks pay the same.
• Your Time Is Your Own:
  No desk, no fixed shift. Run errands, take other client work, and step away as needed, as long as you can respond within the window.
• 60-Minute Response:
  When a client needs an urgent creative swap or schedule change during the coverage window, you must be reachable and able to push updates in the CMS (content management system) within 60 minutes.
• 90-Day Check-In:
  We'll review actual hours together. If active work consistently runs above 8 hours a week, we'll raise the retainer.
• Simple Exit:
  Either side can end the agreement with 2 weeks' notice.

• Quick-Turn Swaps:
  Ingest, audit, and push incoming video/graphic assets live to flagship exterior displays using the CMS.
• Scheduling & Dayparting:
  Program playlists, loop structures, and dynamic content triggers inside the CMS.
• Technical QC:
  Verify media specs (H.264/H.265, custom pixel maps, frame rates, aspect ratios) before content goes live on marquee displays.
• Incident Response:
  Respond to automated playout alerts and coordinate with on-site AV engineers if hardware issues arise.

• Required:
  
  Demonstrable, hands-on experience scheduling and deploying video content in at least one professional digital signage CMS:
  Scala, Bright Sign (Bright Author:connected or BSN.cloud), Broadsign, or Sedna. Applications without this experience will not be considered.
• Strong Plus:
  Sedna experience. It's one of the main CMS’s we run, but we'll train strong Scala, Bright Sign, or Broadsign operators.
• Availability during the coverage window with a laptop and high-speed internet to execute updates within 60 minutes.
• Deep knowledge of digital video codecs, custom LED display mapping, and ad trafficking workflows.
• Sharp attention to detail—errors on high-visibility displays are seen by millions instantly.
