EXL Risk Control is seeking candidates for a Loss Control Consultant role supporting commercial lines insurance carriers. This position is an independent contractor role based in Boise, , with travel to local commercial business operations as needed.

EXL Risk Control provides risk assessments and loss control surveys to commercial lines insurance carriers. We are looking for candidates with extensive experience in commercial Property & Casualty Risk Control who can schedule on-site surveys, evaluate risk, and prepare risk improvement reports to support underwriting.

• Schedule on-site surveys and provide risk evaluation and risk improvement reports to insurance industry clients.
• Prepare information necessary to underwrite commercial insurance policies, including recommendations to control or correct loss-producing conditions.
• Manage assigned work, secure customer appointments within a local territory, and complete work assignments on time.
• Participate in special projects or more challenging risk evaluation surveys or risk improvement service requests using your education and risk control skills.
• Assess risk for various commercial lines of business (Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, Builders Risk).

• 10+ years of Risk Control Consulting, with experience at a major carrier and/or national brokerage preferred.
• Experience with commercial insurance inspections or fire and safety assessments is encouraged.
• BS Degree in Engineering, Safety and/or the physical sciences is preferred.
• CSP or ARM designations are preferred but not required.
• Commercial Lines Property/Casualty Loss Control, Underwriting, and Claims Adjuster experience is relevant.
• Strong communication skills and computer proficiency; ability to meet client quality and timeliness standards.
