Position Summary:
The Office of the Attorney General invites applications for the Deputy Attorney General, OAG, State General Counsel Division - PUC role at the State of Idaho.

Salary:
Starting at $90,000, depends on experience (DOE).

Primary Duties- Represent PUC staff in utility rate cases and other litigated administrative proceedings.
- Prepare pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents.
- Coordinate the presentation of PUC staff’s case.
- Prepare post‑hearing decision memoranda, opinions, orders, and notices for the PUC.
- Review and draft contracts, rules, policies; advise on employment matters, public records law, and open‑meeting law issues.
- Advise on other legal issues arising at the PUC.
- Active Idaho State Bar license.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineers, accountants, utility analysts, economists, and opposing counsel.
- Knowledge of utility regulation may be acquired on‑the‑job.
Familiarity with government practice, administrative law, appellate court practices, economics, finance, accounting, and antitrust are beneficial.
