About the RoleAs a Front Desk Legal Assistant, you will perform a variety of administrative tasks in our collaborative team-oriented culture. You will support your local attorney(s), paralegal(s) and team by assisting with fee agreement drafting, calendaring, filing court documents, client communication, preparing and organizing files for use by attorneys during trial, hearings and other court appearances. You will also staff the front desk, answer calls, and make the first impression for clients and vendors that visit the office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Intake of incoming visitors, direct clients to conference rooms and show hospitality by offering drinks, snacks, etc.
- Maintain office supplies list and keep common areas clean.
- Process payments, make bank deposits and reconcile petty cash.
- Answer all incoming telephone calls.
- Process client‑related documents from paralegals and other employees and ensure they are properly filed within the client files.
- Locate and prepare necessary files for attorneys to use during upcoming court appearances, hearings, trials, client meetings, etc.
- Maintain file room, update files as requested by paralegals or attorneys; e‑file and scan documents to update physical and digital files, including filing briefs, memoranda, discovery, letters and other legal documents.
- Travel to court to file documents with the Clerk of the Court and present documents for signature.
- Support paralegals and attorneys with file review, preliminary legal research and drafting.
- Calendar hearings, deadlines, meetings and other events as directed.
- Provide superior service to clients efficiently.
- Develop and maintain a well‑respected reputation among clients, opposing counsel, judges, court staff and colleagues.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required; college graduate with bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of legal experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to talk, listen and speak clearly on the phone and in written communications.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, maintain a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within prescribed routines and standard practices.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
- Strong process, project and operational management skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills and ability to juggle multiple mandates simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to use data and experience‑based instinct to make decisions.
- Creative thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Wage: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Employment ConditionsDuties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. The position may require occasional weekends, holidays, being on call and overnight travel on occasion.
