Culture Filler Operator-Night Shift

Darigold is seeking a Filling and Packaging Operator for their aseptic Sidel filling line. The operator must be motivated and desire to be a member of a self-activating team that works safely and drives quality on the production line. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced, rigorous environment and works well in a team based setting.

• Inventory tracking and reconciliation
• Organization of storage and filling area
• Loading packaging inputs to the filler/blower
• Maintenance of sanitation in the work area
• Testing and inspecting, quality assurance

The position is responsible for following all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold’s Good Manufacturing Policy, standard operating procedures and facility employee training sessions. The position is also required to report any concerns that may impact food safety or quality to the immediate supervisor, plant quality manager or plant manager.

The Sidel Filling and Packaging Operator is responsible for:

• Safe, efficient operation of the Sidel filling and packaging line machines and equipment
• Inspecting and monitoring the filling process ensuring proper machine operation
• Maintaining and monitoring weights and measures; ensuring proper code markings and labeling along with any other criteria deemed necessary by production or quality
• Maintaining and monitoring inventory necessary to the filling and packaging process
• Maintaining organization of the work area and performing ongoing cleaning tasks in compliance with good manufacturing and warehouse practices
• Cleaning and sanitizing the filler and associated equipment as required
• Assisting maintenance team members in routine maintenance and repairs
• Collecting information and completing production reports accurately; maintaining required paperwork in good order
• Maintaining efficiency standards set for the operating area
• Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor

• Must be able to continuously stand, walk, flex, stretch, twist and move throughout the area for 8-12 hours
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds frequently, between floor level and chest level and above shoulder height
• Must be able to climb stairs

• Ability to organize and analyze process problems
• Strong oral and written communication skills; basic arithmetic; able to read and understand instructions; able to write legibly
• Can monitor and inspect product and equipment
• Can master and safely operate pallet jack and forklift
• Ability to learn and master scanning, batch ticketing, and basic computer use
• Must be able to follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Computer experience
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes
• Will need to pass Better Process School testing when classes are offered
