Responsibilities

The Safe Families for Children Program Coordinator supports the coordination and administration of the Safe Families for Children program in the Treasure Valley, Idaho. Key duties include:

  • Coordinate and implement Safe Families for Children programming with local churches
  • Train Ministry Leads and Family Coaches on resource networks for families served
  • Manage volunteer onboarding: fingerprinting, background checks, reference checks and other administrative steps
  • Assist Program Manager with home studies, volunteer training, and monthly Parent Café peer support meetings
  • Match families in need with Host Families, Family Coaches and other volunteers
  • Maintain and improve data tracking and reporting; manage volunteer onboarding information
  • Identify and engage local churches to expand program reach and recruit, train, coach ministry leads and volunteers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 2–4 years of related human services experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable answering public inquiries by phone, email or in person
  • Experience recruiting, organizing and mobilizing volunteer groups
  • Proficient with Excel, Google Forms and other platforms
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle to travel throughout the Treasure Valley
  • Experience with faith‑based communities is a plus
  • Ability to speak and work in front of small groups
  • Knowledge of dynamics of vulnerable families in crisis situations (e.g., homelessness, domestic violence, substance use) is helpful
