Practice Highlights

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) seeks an Oncology Advanced Practice Provider genuinely interested in oncology and benign hematology with a patient‑centered approach to inpatient care at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. The position partners with the inpatient oncology hospitalist in a team‑based model, Monday‑Friday, with weekend coverage rotation. Additional support may be provided to the Boise Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute clinic based on availability.

In collaboration with the hospitalist or other physicians covering the oncology service, the qualified candidate will provide high‑level independent services to hospital oncology patients. Responsibilities include rounding on all follow‑up patients on the oncology unit, providing initial chart review, communicating with physicians to develop comprehensive consultations, obtaining informed consent for new patients, documenting and preparing discharge orders, providing chemotherapy education visits, performing bone marrow biopsies inpatient and in the outpatient clinic at SARMC as available, triaging oncology patients in the emergency department or direct admits from the outpatient Cancer Institute locations, and managing the intake process.

Compliance with standards of care, policies, procedures, and guidelines is required, and timely consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources must be requested when indicated.

Requirements
  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho and Oregon; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho;
    Board of Pharmacy and DEA (and eventual registration with Oregon).
  • Nurse Practitioner:
    Successful completion of NP Graduate Program (Master’s level preferred) and either AANP or ANCC certification.
  • Physician Assistant:
    Successful completion of PA Graduate Program (Master’s level preferred) and NCCPA certification (PA‑C).
  • Strong medical background and desire to develop a practice supporting a growing multi‑specialty medical group.
  • Previous advanced practice provider experience in oncology or internal medicine preferred.
