Purpose:
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, hiring Patient Safety Attendants for our Clinical Support Team (Float Pool). Patient Safety Attendants support a safe environment for patients by providing continuous observation and surveillance in various departments.
Responsibilities- Maintain visual observation of assigned patient(s) at all times, and verbally redirect the patient in person or over a 2-way audio device as appropriate.
- Provide a first line of action by verbally redirecting patients from engaging in at-risk behaviors and notifying staff of patient's needs and/or alert them in the case of an emergency.
- Document observations on the observation flow sheet every 15-30 minutes and participate in the handoff of pertinent information to fellow staff members.
- Assist licensed nursing staff with care and seek assistance or advice when a patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or a college student in a medical discipline is helpful.
- Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider (BLS/HCP) certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network preferred but not required.
