Transfer Center/Patient Placement RN (Full Time Evening Shift)
Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a dedicated Bed Control Nurse to coordinate the placement of all patient admissions (elective and emergent) and transfers in accordance with the clinical standards and guidelines at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

Responsibilities- Coordinate placement of all patient admissions and transfers using admission criteria.
- Determine whether patients are candidates for observation or inpatient status.
- Contact physician specialty groups for physician-to-physician consults from outlying facilities.
- Coordinate transport of patients to our facility via Life Flight and robotic consults.
- Navigate the robotic consult protocol and determine appropriate physicians for outside consults.
- Assist with air or ground transport coordination and inter‑facility transfers.
- Communicate with managers, charge nurses, and clinical coordinators during high census periods to ensure adequate staffing.
- Utilize IUSM, Central Logic, and Forefront to determine patient placement and submit calls.
- Collaborate with environmental services and patient care units to expedite bed turnover.
- Participate in daily bed briefings, surge and intensity meetings, and other related meetings.
- Prepare periodic reports and serve on Patient Care Services committees as needed.
- Active RN license (current in the state of employment).
- Multistate licenses: must establish residency with Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire.
- Oregon RN license proof required within 90 days of hire.
- BSN strongly preferred; minimum two years of Registered Nurse experience.
- Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required at hire (ACLS and/or PALS accepted in lieu of BLS).
- Previous leadership roles preferred.

- Manage bed availability on all care units and coordinate appropriate placement.
- Use clinical data to monitor capacity status and coordinate interventions during peak census.
- Provide timely communication with external facilities and internal teams.
- Demonstrate ability to use staff reporting tools and coordinate patient resources.
- Serve on committees as needed.
