Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a BSN-prepared RN with at least 2 years of labor and delivery experience to join a busy L&D unit utilizing Epic EMR.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute hospital labor and delivery (L&D) setting
- Unit includes 16 L&D beds, 13 antepartum beds, 8 triage beds, and 3 OR suites for C-sections
- High volume unit with 320-400 deliveries per month
- Patient population includes preeclampsia, previa, twins, and diabetic patients
- RNs circulate in the OR and are required to titrate Pitocin and insulin drips
- Uses Epic for EMR and Centricity Perinatal–GE for EFM documentation
- Day shifts are 12 hours (7a-7p) with weekend requirements as needed
- Floating expected to Meridian and Nampa hospitals, as well as high-risk antepartum unit and other floors
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Charge RN present each shift and does not typically take a patient assignment
- Surgical techs and OB laborist in house 24/7 with anesthesiology and neonatology support always available
- Initial orientation includes one shift each in L&D, antepartum, and LD OR
- Travelers are the first to float when needed
- Holiday coverage may occasionally be required
- No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
- No local candidates accepted; must live more than 50 miles from facility
- Former permanent employees must wait one year before being eligible for travel assignments
- Active compact RN license at time of consideration
- BSN required
- Minimum of 2 years recent labor and delivery experience
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and STABLE
- Completion of AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course required
- Experience with LDRP, circulating in the OR, and titrating labor-related drips
- Experience with Epic EMR and perinatal documentation systems preferred
- Must provide a copy of driver’s license
- Must provide two professional references: one supervisor within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
