Responsibilities- Promote SCA’s mission, vision, and values.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, anesthesia techniques and perioperative care.
- Develop individualized perianesthesia plans of care and coordinate with the perioperative team.
- Perform pre‑operative screening, data collection, and clearance of patients.
- Administer medications safely using the 8‑rights of safe medication administration.
- Document episodes of care completely, accurately and legibly.
- Participate in quality review, performance improvement projects and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain required competencies and pursue professional growth.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- At least one year of pre‑op, PACU or surgical nursing experience.
- Current state licensure in good standing.
- BLS or BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
- ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
- PALS certification required if providing pediatric care within facility scope.
- Specialty certification in perioperative or perianesthesia nursing preferred.
