Director, Quantitative Methods

Our client is a well-regarded custom market research firm. They work across nonprofit, consumer, B2B, and policy research, they like complicated projects, and they tend to build their own tools rather than buy them. The team is small, collaborative, and fully remote.

They need a senior quant methodologist. You'd be the person colleagues bring the hard methods questions to, and the owner of the firm's in-house research and AI tools. You'll inherit working systems and improve them rather than start from scratch. This is a senior individual-contributor role with no direct reports today, and room to grow.

What you'll do

• Design and run conjoint, Max Diff, segmentation, and other advanced quant studies
• Maintain and extend in-house tools, including an AI toolkit for open-ended responses and a custom reporting platform
• Explain and defend methodology in client conversations and proposals
• Mentor analysts and document how things work, so the knowledge isn't stuck in one person's head

What you'll need

• Hands-on conjoint, Max Diff, and segmentation experience on client work, ideally in market research
• Experience building with LLM APIs, and a healthy skepticism of what they produce
• The ability to explain complex methods to people who don't use them
• Comfort working independently on a remote team
