- Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor, work well with customers as well as associates.
- Follow café guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance and equipment/space cleaning, and requirements at all times.
- Prepare food items, ensuring consistency and compliance with the Cafe's recipes, portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines.
- Prepare and portion ingredients for sandwiches, salads, soups, and other deli items.
- Cook or heat menu items using ovens, panini presses, slicers, and other deli equipment.
- Assemble sandwiches and deli items accurately, following recipes or guest preferences.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service and respond to basic menu questions.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining clean workstations and equipment.
- Be versatile with equipment such as oven, slicer, etc.
- Perform other duties assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent customer service and communication.
- Ability to perform basic math duties.
- Ability to multitask and adjust to change on the fly.
- Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and responsible food handling standards.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Serv Safe® Certification and State Food Handler Card.
- This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
