RolePosition: Strategic Account Manager – West
Location: Remote role, located anywhere in the Western U.S., responsible for servicing the Western region.
- Demonstrate and uphold Riverside’s Core Values, mission, and vision.
- Help establish respect and confidence with customers. Build and strengthen relationships across customers, brokers, and distributor partners.
- Educate distributors, brokers, sales agents and customers on product attributes and benefits while displaying humility.
- Build relationships within multiple levels of the customer organization. Develop and manage collaborative partnerships and joint business plans with key customers.
- Develop and drive strategic plans to meet or exceed revenue goals. Engage broker partners and customers in planning processes.
- Provide inputs for demand planning and own the bottoms-up forecast for the S&OP process for each account. Manage forecasting accurately and consistently.
- Analyze quantitative sales data, respond to trends and threats, and maintain awareness of market environment to support RNF brands.
- Create and present customer-specific presentations. Share strategic initiatives with broker and distributor partners to enable execution against plans.
- Develop customer-specific programs to drive strong velocities.
- Identify medium- and long-term opportunities and apply a solution-based selling approach.
- Ensure execution against planning tactics: distribution, shelving, merchandising, pricing guidelines and guardrails.
- Present innovations in a timely manner and plan for quick speed-to-market.
- Collaborate on marketing programs with customers and RNF US Marketing team.
- Manage trade spend against assigned budgets and follow trade compliance and deduction processes.
- Communicate account activity/results via internal processes and conduct quarterly business reviews with accounts; provide monthly updates to internal teams and customers.
- Foster strong partnerships with broker partners through regular interactions and KPI tracking.
- Demonstrate ownership by managing customers as if they were your own and maintain understanding of customer and competitive market.
- Attend designated trade shows and events.
- Maintain a positive, engaging work atmosphere.
- Other duties as assigned. Travel may require 50%+.
- Preferred college degree in business.
- 6+ years of progressive sales experience. Experience in the organic/health food industry is a plus.
- Proven problem-solving ability with solutions implemented successfully.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and listening skills.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and comfortable with business analytics tools.
- Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Tech savvy with sales-related software; resourceful and resilient in selling.
- Energetic, passionate, competitive, and principled; capable of building productive relationships with key partners.
- Decision-making based on a mix of information, analysis, experience and judgment; self-starter and highly motivated.
