Body Shop Painter
Join Kenworth Sales in our Boise, and earn $25–$40 per hour (DOE). This full‑time role puts you in a winning team that values excellence, safety and customer success.
Responsibilities- Supervise all painting processes, ensuring materials are stored, used and inventoried safely.
- Maintain safety standards, comply with state, local and federal codes and OSHA guidelines.
- Assist the Service Manager in documenting all required health and safety records.
- Control all inventory relating to the painting process, including ordering and pricing of materials.
- Collaborate with the Body Shop Manager, Shop Foreman and Service Writer to estimate time and costs for painting proposals.
- Receive repair order assignments from the Body Shop Manager.
- Perform work directed in the repair order in a timely and thorough manner.
- Coordinate selection of colors and materials with the customer and Body Shop Manager.
- Maintain superior workmanship standards in all services performed.
- Advise the Body Shop Manager of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
- Determine if further servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicate such recommendations to the Body Shop Manager.
- Maintain a level of training and experience with specialized materials, equipment, machinery, and painting techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer’s equipment.
- Attend training sessions as required by the Service Manager.
- Perform additional services required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of painter’s faulty workmanship.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent high school diploma.
- Two or more years of experience in heavy‑duty truck refinishes and body repair methods.
- Thorough knowledge of Axalta paint product line.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid CDL, HVAC, mechanical aptitude a plus.
- Ability to perform journeyman‑level repair/refinish with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and technical data sheets.
This is a physically demanding position. You will stand, stoop, bend, climb ladders and scaffolding up to eight hours per shift, lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs. You will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, paint fumes and a variety of other hazardous and non‑hazardous materials.
