Job Title: Field Technician II

Pay: $37–55/hr

Job Summary: The Field Technician II will inspect, test, and maintain high, medium, and low voltage electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with equipment such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad‑mount and GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and a variety of switches (manual and motor‑operated). Technicians will implement safety policies.

• Perform entry‑level testing of high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment independently while collaborating with senior technicians.
• Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports documenting all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment components.

• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Must be able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with the following:
• Voltage verification
• Contact resistance
• Insulation resistance
• Test equipment set‑up
• Reading and understanding one‑line drawings
• Understanding equipment identification and associated hazards
• Understanding practical application of electrical theory and hazards (LOTO, arc flash, grounding, reading schematics)

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or military experience preferred.
• 2–4 years of relevant industry experience.
• NETA II certification.

• Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
