Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Boise, .

Compensation & Schedule- Hourly Pay: $27.00 per hour
- ASE Bonus program
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
- Schedule:
Tuesday–Saturday - Hours:
First Shift 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
- Annual Merit Pay Increases every year

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or Technical Certification – post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation tools
- Work in compliance with all federal, provincial, and corporate guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support
