Assistant Swim Team Coach

, you’ll support the Head Coach in leading summer recreation swim teams, helping athletes develop swimming skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and positive environment. This temporary position is based at one of the City’s outdoor pool facilities and is open to applicants 16 years of age and older. • Coaches individual swimmers on various styles and racing techniques.
• Makes recommendations to swim team head coach for swimmers' needs, meet entries, or other duties.
• Attends all swim meets including Championship meet.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.

• Competitive swimming skills and techniques.

• Display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of city employees, the general public and other organizations
• Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
• Understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations
• Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation.

• One year of experience coaching a swim program.
• Current Lifeguard Certification.
• American Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certification.

• City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation;
