Job SummaryShipping, receiving, and stocking all freight material arriving or leaving the company. Parts delivery to local customers and maintaining warehouse organization.
Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver and pick up parts from vendors & customers.
- Pick and pull parts for outgoing parts orders.
- Accept and receive freight from freight companies after inspecting and verifying condition of shipment and noting any damage on shipment documents.
- Maintain & create bin locations so that all parts have a respective location according to size and/or product group.
- Check in and receive all incoming inventory and locate parts in their prospective locations.
- Ensure accuracy of parts inventory by performing cycle and random bin counts.
- Perform all functions within the scope of the warehouse to provide support to warehouse and sales staff.
- Maintain work area and surrounding areas for cleanliness, organization, and proper supplies required to perform duties.
- Participate in annual and random physical inventories to verify stock and identify losses.
- Drop sales flyers off at locations when delivering.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clearly legible handwriting.
- Experience in shipping: knowledge of bills of lading, freight bills, shipping and receiving rates.
- Packaging skills: knowledge of how material should be packed to reach its destination economically and without damage.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to operate a warehouse forklift and complete a formal training program.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
The job requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; significant climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job involves 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing. Conditions may include temperature extremes, exposure to risk of injury and/or illness, noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and hazardous and non‑hazardous materials. Drivers and warehouse positions may require lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance.
