Staff Accountant
6-month W-2 Contract
Bolingbrook, IL
-Hybrid
Schedule:
Onsite 6 days a month (Tues-Thurs every other week for corporate weeks)
This is a W-2 contract opportunity, and candidates must be able to work on our W-2 only. NO C2C or 1099.
POSITION SUMMARY:- The individual will initially support the Project Accounting function and will transition to Fixed Asset Accounting responsibilities as business needs evolve.
- The Temporary Staff Accountant will provide accounting support during two planned employee leaves of absence.
- The individual will initially support the Project Accounting function and will transition to Fixed Asset Accounting responsibilities as business needs evolve.
- The role will participate in monthly close activities, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, perform variance analyses, and assist with other accounting projects and ad hoc requests as assigned
- Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional accounting experience.
- Experience supporting month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting internal controls.
- Experience with SAP S/4
HANA or other large ERP systems; SAP experience is strongly preferred. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis functions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional business teams.
- Experience with project accounting, software capitalization, fixed assets, construction-in-progress (CIP), or capital project accounting is preferred.
- Experience with Ariba or similar procurement/workflow systems is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes and transition between accounting responsibilities as business needs evolve.
