Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a School Social Worker, supporting early childhood students at a primary center in Minooka, IL. This contract position runs from November 11th through February 11th, offering dedicated service to children ages 3-5. With a consistent Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00am to 3:45pm and a 30-minute duty-free lunch, you’ll find a rhythm that supports both your professional and personal life.

Key

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement required.
  • Experience with early childhood or preschool populations is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in play-based assessment and providing classroom-based interventions.
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing a diverse caseload.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve a single site (Minooka Primary Center) with a caseload of 39 students, providing approximately 2,870 minutes of monthly servicean average of 75 minutes per student.
  • Conduct evaluations for students aged 2 years, 10 months and older, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation.
  • Participate in arrival and dismissal duties, assisting children as they transition between home and school.
  • Implement services in classrooms, working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
  • Design and deliver play-based assessments every Friday, tailoring your approach to foster engagement in young learners.
