ILUS - Sr. Project Engineer II
Candidate will be responsible for engineering of material handling systems. Each system is custom designed per client based on the optimal solution. This requires a team effort of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, controls, software, and project management. The team will develop and implement a design concept that satisfies the customer’s requirement for safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and expense.
Responsibilities- Designing/enhancing conveyor systems as well as various automated and semi-automated material handling systems; may lead on larger projects or an entire project program
- Review of product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements and specifications
- Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
- Prepare/Review approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD
- Obtain material and product quotes from vendors and issue purchase orders
- Monitor the project schedule, engineering time, and material costs
- Work with other disciplines on the project team to make sure the engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints
- Travel up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers
- Participate in continuous improvement projects
- Resolve engineering issues by working with customers, vendors and other team members
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years of material handling related experience

- AutoCAD and/or Solid Works proficiency
- Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Ability to lead multiple teams and accomplish project goals effectively
- Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment
- In‑depth knowledge of the material handling business
- Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Team‑oriented and collaborative
- Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented
- Ability to learn new technology
- Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
