The ideal candidate will serve as trusted counsel to local government entities, including municipalities, school districts, park districts, and library districts. This position combines hybrid work flexibility with the chance to tackle meaningful legal issues in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities- Advise local government clients on contracts, employment issues, and governance matters
- Manage ordinance prosecutions and enforcement actions
- Provide guidance on purchasing and procurement processes
- Respond to board inquiries and support decision‑making
- Assist with real estate and property‑related legal issues
- Deliver practical solutions for day‑to‑day operational needs
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- 2+ years of relevant legal experience (municipal, public sector, or related practice)
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and communication skills
- Prior experience in municipal or public sector law strongly preferred
- Ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines with precision
- Bonus:
Familiarity with corporate formation or estate planning
