Forklift Operations Group Lead Job Bolingbrook area,Illinois USA,Management

Work hours are Mon-Fri from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

The Group Lead supports and works alongside the Supervisor to manage the work flow and projects at the Redbox Warehouse in Bolingbrook, Illinois. This role assists the Warehouse Supervisor with daily inventory, administrative duties, and the technical and physical tasks related to the returns, packaging, or rework of shipments and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out various duties as needed by management related to production, inbound/outbound shipping, warehouse organization and special projects

Delegate work and guide activities of a team to maintain or exceed established productivity levels

Assist team with unloading merchandise from trailers; collect empty pallet boards/boxes and place them into storage. Cartons can weigh 30-50 lbs., with between 200 - 2000 cartons delivered per day

Assist in movement of merchandise intake both physically and through inventory management software

Ensure employees stay on task during their shift, monitoring for appropriate use of break time/lunch time, and escalate any performance or behavioral concerns to the Supervisor

Act as warehouse leadership when the Supervisor is not present

With Supervisor guidance, coach employees to improve performance and increase efficiencies by identifying trends and providing constructive feedback. Provide timely follow-up information to Supervisor

Monitor and maintain best practices and procedures regarding all tasks completed by the team; adapt to changing supply chain and warehouse needs and requirements

Assist with departmental training and provide instruction on work techniques

Perform other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED required

3+ years of experience working in a warehouse environment required

Previous experience in a team lead role preferred

Experience in inventory handling as it pertains to monthly productivity goals

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

This job requires the ability to work on-site at a Redbox facility 5 days per week

Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team in a high volume, automated environment; must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with others

Must have a license to operate a forklift (minimum dock certified)

Ability to adhere to and enforce Redbox operating guidelines and procedures

Must wear / utilize necessary safety equipment

Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce procedures, safety policies, and company protocols and to communicate safety issues/concerns

Strong analytical, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

Must work well independently; able to lead projects with little to no supervision

Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats

Ability to maintain an exceptional attendance record

Ability to work a flexible schedule, which is subject to change

Ability to work overtime and on weekends as needed; mandatory overtime may be required

Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently bend, kneel, push, pull, squat, and stand frequently throughout the workday

Ability to lift and carry 40+ lbs. regularly throughout the workday

Ability to stand for an entire shift

Ability to work in a trailer at times, with exposure to heat and cold
