Job Description Full-time bookstore associate for Furqaan Bookstore, the retail division of Al-Furqaan Foundation, an Islamic dawah non-profit dedicated to sharing Quranic teachings and serving the American Muslim community.
* * Role Overview:
* * The associate provides comprehensive customer service across all bookstore operations, working on-site in Bolingbrook, Illinois. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexibility required for evenings, weekends and holidays.

* Key Responsibilities:

* * Customer Service:
** Greet customers warmly and assist in finding books based on interests and preferences
* Provide knowledgeable recommendations and guidance on availability and pricing
* Respond to inquiries via phone, email, online channels and in-store, resolving issues promptly
* Sales & Transactions:
** Process purchases accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system
* Handle cash, card and other payment methods according to cash-handling procedures
* Promote special offers, discounts and seasonal campaigns
* Inventory & Shipping:
** Receive, unpack and shelve incoming stock
* Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies
* Create and maintain attractive product displays
* Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders with accuracy
* Verify orders, apply labels and coordinate with logistics partners for shipments
* Track shipments, resolve delays and maintain shipping documentation for compliance
* Store Operations:
** Perform opening and closing procedures
* Monitor and replenish supplies (bags, receipt paper, etc.)
* Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized store environment
* Flag maintenance or safety concerns with management
* Collaborate with management on sales strategies and performance targets

* Qualifications:

* ** High school diploma or equivalent
* Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
* Passion for books and literature; knowledge of popular authors, genres and titles
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customer-centric approach
* Strong attention to detail in transactions and inventory management
* Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
* Arabic or Urdu language ability preferred
* Legal authorization to work in the USA
