Shifts & Pay

A Shift;
Mon‑Thu 5am‑3:30pm $18/hr

Job Purpose: To operate forklifts safely and efficiently; handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly; maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping; loading/unloading of RJW truck/trailers and outside carriers safely using proper procedures; ensure shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded; store stock in the warehouse; provide material handling services for shipping and receiving activities; work from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers;

maintain forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assists Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Operate reach truck and/or Walkie Rider.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Loads and unloads RJW truck/trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carriers.
  • Flexible to work 10 to 12 hour shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.
  • Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
  • Ensures all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
  • Maintains warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Processing outbound cross‑dock freight as necessary.
  • Oversees storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into the storage racks.
  • Works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
  • Records and verifies the accuracy of shipments against the paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
  • Ensures all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
  • Operates forklifts safely and efficiently following all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
  • Wears seatbelts at all times when operating the forklift.
  • Completes daily forklift maintenance inspections.
  • Handles all customer products properly and orderly.
  • Checks deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage; alerts Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
  • Reports all accidents/incidents, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
  • Maintains access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility, keeping them free of debris or snow.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Possesses a sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Attention to detail and quality a must.
  • Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.
  • PC skills helpful.
  • Major experience on reach truck or stand‑up forklift/EPJs.
  • Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
  • Experience in cross‑docking freight process.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse.

Qualifications:

  • 3‑6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using reach truck/stand‑up forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks.
  • Good stable work record.

Education And/or Experience

Required:

  • High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).
  • Warehousing certifications a plus.
