Material Handler Warehouse

Position Description

Ryder is immediately hiring for Warehouse Associates in Bolingbrook, Illinois.

• Hourly Pay: $19.00 per hour
• Shift Premium: $1.00 per hour when working second shift
• Schedule:
  
  Monday - Friday, Second shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers and ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
• Help train dock employees on new procedures; maintain facility security at shift end.
• Investigate and resolve scanning issues and housekeeping matters.
• Perform picking and packing duties; check for product or container damage.
• Execute material moves pursuant to the location’s policies and procedures.
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities to improve warehouse operations.
• Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Six months of related warehouse experience (required).
• One year or more of related warehouse experience (preferred).
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc.; intermediate proficiency required.
• May be required to operate manual or automated manufacturing equipment (e.g., packaging line); intermediate proficiency preferred.
• Powered industrial truck certification.
• Ability to read, do basic mathematics in English for safety, work instructions, and policies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into the warehouse management system used.
• Work overtime as assigned.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to operate and self‑driven to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
• Capable of multi‑tasking, highly organized with excellent time‑management skills.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
