Central Sterile Technician

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician to join our staff in the Central Sterile department! CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk‑in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

Sterile Processing serves an important role in ensuring surgical tools are sterile, functional, and ready when needed. Sterile Processing cleans, sterilizes and prepares medical instruments to keep patients safe and prevent infections.

A Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for providing support to all patient care services within the Citizens Memorial Healthcare facilities.

• Cleans, disinfects, reassembles, and performs operational safety checks on portable equipment that cannot be sterilized mechanically, and reports equipment malfunctions to the department manager.
• Decontaminating instruments/sets and patient care equipment following device IFU and using thorough cleaning and disinfecting practices as they are returned to Sterile Processing.
• Consistently performing sterilization functions in a manner that provides sterile, complete, and patient‑ready supplies when needed by user areas.

• Education:
  
  HS diploma
• Experience:
  
  Previous experience in Central Supply/Operating Room preferred
• Skills:
  
  organization, able to work in fast‑paced environment, multitasking
• Licensure/Certification:
  Sterile Certification from a nationally recognized professional association or be able to obtain within 1 year from date of employment.
• Physical:
  Ability to stand and ambulate for the majority of the scheduled shift.
