Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are looking for a Cost Controls Manager to join this programme on the owner's side — someone who has built solid EPC cost control foundations and is ready to step into a complex, high-value environment where the numbers matter, the pace is real, and the exposure to senior programme leadership is significant.
What you will be doing
Cost Control & Budget Management
Own the cost control function for one or more EPC packages — maintaining budgets, tracking commitments and expenditure, and ensuring the cost baseline stays defensible from mobilisation through close-out.
Change & Variation Cost Tracking
Support the identification, assessment, and processing of variation orders and change events from a cost perspective. Build a clear audit trail linking scope change to budget impact, and keep forecasts current as positions evolve.
Forecasting & Cost-to-Complete
Assist in the preparation and review of cost forecasts and cost-to-complete analysis — gathering progress data, cross-referencing commitments, and supporting the senior team in forming an accurate view of final cost exposure.
Reporting & Trend Analysis
Maintain accurate cost trackers and produce clear internal reporting that gives programme leadership visibility of budget status, variance, trends, and open cost risk.
Stakeholder Interface
Interface with the client, subcontractors, and internal project teams to keep cost data accurate, timely, and aligned across the full delivery lifecycle.
What we are looking for
7–10 years of experience in cost control or cost management within EPC or major capital project environments
Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost-to-complete, and variation/change cost tracking — not just exposure, but ownership
Engineering, quantity surveying, or construction management background — we need someone who can engage credibly with contractors on technical and commercial matters
Data centre, critical infrastructure, or large-scale MEP experience is a strong advantage
Detail-oriented and organised — you understand that cost control lives or dies on the quality of the data
Clear and confident communicator, written and verbal
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, multi-stakeholder programme environment
Duration: 18+ months with strong possibility of extension Arrangement:
Independent Contracting Engagement
Apply as soon as possible with your CV — applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and I will be in touch to arrange a call if your profile fulfils the requirements.
