Job Description
We are currently seeking a  Firmware and Control Engineer  to join our dynamic team in  Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy . This position is responsible for designing, analyzing and troubleshooting firmware code (IC embedded code), contributing to code reviews and team performance improvement. The engineer reads and understands the hardware and embedded system diagrams, defines tests to validate firmware designs, writes proper documentation, motivates team members, and guarantees clear information flow to avoid misunderstandings and lack of clarity.

The role also provides technical support to customers, analyzes specific applications, and offers active support and service.

What kind of work will you be doing?

Works with the Firmware team to design, analyze and troubleshoot software for allocated functions, and understand the working principle of hardware.

Provides firmware test specifications and supports during the product life cycle.

Works with the tech‑support team to solve problems in the field.

Cooperates with other engineering functions during the definition of the product specification.

Supports the testing team with the definition of the test plan and reviews test results.

Produces technical documentation in line with process requirements such as drawings and component specifications.

What will make you successful?

Excellent planning and communication skills.

3+ years of experience designing control algorithms with Simulink/Matlab, PID regulator, Clarke and Park transforms, Digital filtering, Hardware in the loop.

Good knowledge of C language based on DSP real‑time system architecture, Git/Git Lab, Tortoise SVN, DSP/MCU architecture, preferably TI oriented.

Preferred: experience with CAN bus, I2C, SPI and serial protocols, PWM and ADC converter, familiarity with laboratory instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, power meter), electronic power converter.

University master’s degree in Software or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

3+ years of experience in equivalent areas (UPS, Inverter, Power converter or low‑voltage electrical distribution) is a plus.

Good knowledge of PLM (Product Life Cycle Management) and processes.

Positive team‑working attitude and communication.

Customer-oriented and availability to travel.

Good English language knowledge.

The anticipated salary range for this role in the Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy locality is between 41,000€ to 52,000€ gross per year (based on a 40‑hour work week). Certain roles are eligible for additional benefits.
