Job Description & How to Apply Below
Decision Brain develops custom decision‑support applications for various clients. While each solution is unique, they share common architectural traits:
Web-based applications with a microservice architecture
Deployment on various Kubernetes environments
Built using DB Gene , our proprietary platform that we use to accelerate the development of decision‑support applications
Built and packaged using a Continuous Integration toolchain
Your team is in charge of deploying our applications to Kubernetes environments, monitoring them, investigating issues, qualifying them, and implementing a fix if the issue is within your scope. It works in close collaboration both with the teams responsible for project development and with the team responsible for the IT infrastructure. As a client‑facing team, your mission is to ensure that we respect our SLAs and, beyond that, to contribute actively to customer success.
Role
As a Dev Ops Engineer , you will play a crucial role in the company’s ability to deliver its software projects. Furthermore, the recent progress in AI tools opens the door to ubiquitous automation of processes, which in turn relies heavily on Dev Ops tooling.
Our Dev Ops toolchain includes the following, where alternatives are either currently or potentially investigated for almost all elements:
Build scripts that rely on Gradle (currently at version
9), with a significant library of plugins developed in-house
Continuous integration pipelines running on self-hosted Gitlab workers
Artefacts in several formats (PyPi, Maven2, NPM, Docker, etc.) stored in Nexus repositories
Projects deployed to Kubernetes using Helm charts
Your mission will consist in enhancing the above toolchain both to make it more robust, for example by investigating emerging technologies and products; and to extend its scope to the needs of the company, from software delivery to security, and more generally the automation of processes.
Key Responsibilities
As mentioned above, your role is connected to all technical teams in the company. With this in mind, and under the supervision of the Lead Engineer of the team, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining the CI tool chain of the projects that we develop for our customers
Evolving this CI to incorporate specificities of project and evolutions brought by the Platform
Working with the Platform team on their specific CI tool chain, gradually taking the ownership of this CI
Evolving all CI tool chains to incorporate new company-wide evolutions around security, deployments, and more generally automations
When relevant, propose options for, and implement upstream or downstream components, such as reorganization of Nexus servers, or an NVD cache
Your daily tasks will include:
Providing L2 internal support on CI problems
Specifying, designing, planning, and implementing components of the software production, validation, and release processes of the company
Participate in design sessions with members of your team and of other teams
Investigate new technologies and evolutions of our Dev Ops ecosystem
