Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a highly organized and proactive professional to join our practice as a Construction & Community Engagement Coordinator, working primarily at a project site in Caledon, Peel Region. This role combines stakeholder engagement, project communications, and on‑site presence during construction. You will act as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, and community stakeholders while monitoring construction activities and supporting clear, proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with project delivery managers, contractors, and external agencies.
  • Develop and maintain project engagement plans and communications.
  • Ensure project information is accurate on program webpages and Plan Engage.
  • Maintain stakeholder lists and build relationships with schools, businesses, health centres, and community organizations.
  • Prepare and distribute notices, newsletters, maps, and event materials.
  • Host public information centres and stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct Business and Institutional Care Program (BICP) surveys and regular check‑ins with area businesses.
  • Plan and manage project signage, way finding, and hoarding.
  • Support proactive issue resolution.
  • Monitor construction progress to understand schedules, impacts, and mitigation measures and communicate these clearly to stakeholders.
  • Review traffic management and construction management plans to assess impacts on the travelling public, businesses, institutions, and property owners.
  • Track monthly progress look‑aheads and provide clear updates to stakeholders.
  • Participate in project kick‑offs, bi‑weekly reviews, and coordination meetings.
  • Input project‑level communications information into progress reports and communications calendars.
  • Track construction‑related outages (planned and emergency) for communication to key stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor junior staff in communications procedures and standards.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and photo records for use in communications materials.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience working on a construction site, preferably with linear municipal water/wastewater and/or tunneling projects.
  • Proven project management skills, delivering quality results on time and within budget.
  • Experience in construction contract administration, consulting, and/or community consultations (preferred).
  • Strong listening and problem‑solving skills for issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Capacity to multi‑task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self‑motivated with strong technical writing and public speaking abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions as required.
Education and Experience
  • A university degree or post‑graduate college diploma.
  • Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in project development, implementation, and management, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
