Location: Bolton
Sovereign Construction Management Limited ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is seeking an experienced Intermediate Estimator to join our growing team. We are an ICI General Contractor and Construction Manager specializing in site servicing, concrete, petroleum, industrial, commercial, and institutional construction projects throughout Ontario.
This position is intended for someone with real construction industry experience and a strong understanding of drawings, takeoffs, tendering, and pre‑construction coordination.
Responsibilities- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
- Review and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and mechanical drawings
- Perform takeoffs using estimating software
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for public and private projects
- Solicit and analyze pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers, municipalities, trades and internal project teams
- Identify scope gaps, drawing conflicts, and construction risks during pre‑construction
- Assist with budgeting, procurement, and bid closing processes
- Maintain and build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Support project management teams during project startup and handoff
- Shop drawing review
- Minimum 3–7 years of estimating experience in civil, concrete, site servicing, or ICI construction
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Proven experience using AutoCAD for reviewing and understanding construction drawings
- Proven experience completing detailed quantity takeoffs
- Experience preparing bids and tenders for both public and private sector projects
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced construction environment
- This is not an entry‑level position.
- Applicants without proven experience in construction estimating, bidding/tendering, AutoCAD, and quantity takeoffs should not apply.
