Caledon Library Collections Co-op Internship

Develop your library science skills as a Collections Co-op Intern at Caledon Public Library from September to December. This full-time internship focuses on improving access to diverse library collections.
The co-op position, reporting to the Manager of Collections & Access Services, includes responsibilities such as cataloguing local history, digitizing materials, and supporting library services. The role is tailored for MLIS students who seek practical experience in collections management and customer service within a community-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Suggest enhancements for local history resource placement

• Support catalogue maintenance and access services

• Digitize and describe archival materials effectively

• Develop digital literacy tools for enhancing collection access

• Assist patrons in navigating electronic resources and troubleshoot
Requirements:

• Enrollment in a Master of Library and Information Science program

• Familiarity with cataloguing principles and MARC records

• Strong note-taking and customer interaction skills

• Effective teamwork and independent working capability

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings
