Process Specialist - Blow Molding

TM is seeking a Senior Stretch Blow Molding SME to join our Advanced Solutioning team. You will work with the process, application, melt delivery and technology teams to stay at the forefront of smart & iconic packaging, application development and sustainability solutions. The role will be responsible for application research (low ARL understanding) and translating customer needs into solutions. Husky Technologies

TM is the largest brand-name supplier of injection molding equipment and services to the plastics industry.

• Identify and quantify relationships between application, injection molding process, PET / rPET material properties, reheating process, stretch blow molding process and package performance
• Lead projects aimed at:
  • experimental development of new hardware, technology, processing or controls strategies that improve pellet to bottle OEE, performance and quality
  • deepen Husky’s scientific knowledge of stretch blow molding processing and technology
  • identify and adapt evolutions in key stretch blow molding technologies, applications and rigid packaging trends to maintain the competitive advantage of Husky products
• Data-driven scientific approach: first principles research, scientific relationships and numerical analyses to better interpret and predict poorly understood physical phenomena (causation vs. correlation)
• Develop end-to-end solutions in collaboration with business development teams and our customers
• Work closely with a team of cross-functional domain experts in A+E, Product Development and Validation teams to integrate innovations and new technologies into practical solutions
• Technical lead for projects, managing project timelines, resources and budgets

• Mechanical or Plastic Processing Engineering Degree preferably at master’s or PhD level
• 5-10+ years of experience in related industries
• In-depth understanding of stretch blow molding concepts, system operation, package design, processing and advanced knowledge of rheology and polymer properties relevant to processing
• Lead Product Launch Teams as required and ability to travel internationally
• Ability to translate customer needs into innovative solutions utilizing Husky`s technology suite
• Ability to use science and systematic methodologies, data analysis and machine learning as practical tools to find meaningful technical solutions for Husky’s product offering
• Background in application and technology development as well as generating new IP
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members
• Work well in progressive team environment
• Strong time and project management skills, and ability to delegate tasks and projects
