The Town of Caledon, balancing urban and rural dynamics, is searching for a Deputy Fire Chief focused on Community Risk Reduction and Administration. With strategic oversight of fire prevention initiatives, you'll drive measurable public education programs that meet community needs. You will collaborate effectively with all Town departments and manage administrative functions to support departmental efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop evidence-based risk reduction strategies
• Lead the Fire Prevention team with clear direction
• Communicate with Town departments for strategic alignment
• Promote positive labour management and stakeholder relationships
• Oversee volunteer firefighter administration and planning
Requirements:
• Minimum seven years in municipal fire services
• Post-secondary diploma in Public Administration or related field
• Certified in NFPA Fire Inspector and Educator courses
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Knowledge of legislative frameworks affecting fire service
