Parks Maintenance Operator

Enhance the beauty of parks in Caledon as a full-time Parks Maintenance Operator. Focus on maintenance tasks across parks, facilities, and streetscapes while operating essential equipment.

This role reports to the Parks Supervisor and involves overseeing maintenance operations throughout the Town of Caledon. You will be responsible for cutting grass, managing shrub beds, grooming sports fields, and ensuring clean facilities. Additionally, you will perform preventive maintenance on equipment and lead summer staff as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee park maintenance across various environments

• Operate small equipment like mowers and chainsaws

• Maintain and service tools used for park upkeep

• Implement and manage traffic control plans

• Supervise and guide students and temporary staff

Requirements:

• Completion of grade 12 or equivalent

• Post-secondary diploma in related field preferred

• Experience with park maintenance equipment

• Valid Restricted Class ‘A’ driver’s license

• Strong customer service and communication skills
