Scope Of PositionWe are seeking a skilled Assembly Hall Technician to support the assembly of custom formwork systems, including columns, wall forms, panels, shaft platforms, and various architectural forms. This role also involves repairing and maintaining components using hand and power tools to ensure the optimal performance and safety of our products and equipment. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and experienced in assembling and refurbishing equipment to prepare for upcoming construction projects.
WhatYou'll Do On a Typical Day
- Disassemble, inspect, and repair PERI formwork components returned from job sites, ensuring all items meet quality and safety standards before being redeployed to upcoming projects.
- Assemble custom formwork systems according to order specifications and project requirements.
- Remove, repair, and replace components using a variety of hand and power tools:
- Hand tools: drills, routers, belt sanders, palm sanders etc.
- Power hand tools: table saws, reciprocal saws, panel saws, circular saws, jigsaws, wall saws, band saws, etc.
- Record required information and data, including time, materials, and consumables.
- Identify and resolve issues, collaborating with designers to address discrepancies.
- Occasionally operate a crane to lift, move, position or place materials.
- Produce high-quality work with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Actively participate in group Health & Safety meetings.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with all PERI policies, procedures, and provincial Health & Safety standards.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management and organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle both large and small parts for material preparation and movement.
- Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and ability to count parts manually.
- Previous experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Experience operating a crane is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints is considered an asset.
- Capability to lift up to 10 kilograms / 22 pounds on a regular basis and up to 20 kilograms / 45 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Standing and walking up to 8.75 hours per day.
- Work is performed outdoors and indoors year‑round.
- Regular exposure to dust, dirt, and grime.
- Constant exposure to forklift and transport truck traffic.
- Regular exposure to moderate noise levels.
- Availability to work overtime during weekdays and weekends as required.
- Must wear personal protective equipment in required work areas.
