About the Role
As a member of the Stouffville site team, the Mill Helper will execute daily tasks of cleaning, monitoring and maintaining the Sand and Gravel Plant in accordance with Amrize Best Practices and Policies. The role is a night shift position and includes performing all administration related to equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities- Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure the plant and surrounding site are kept safe, presentable, and functional.
- Support the Environmental Department in developing, implementing and managing operational standards to mitigate environmental impact.
- Operate and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Perform daily inspections as part of the preventative maintenance program to ensure maintenance is scheduled and completed as required.
- Wash plant and equipment to remove material buildup from spillages.
- Support effective relationships within the community by participating in local activities and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments.
- Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Industrial plant operation and maintenance experience is an asset.
- Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and specific mobile equipment training, including forklift and skidsteer operation.
- Computer literacy is an asset.
- Action-oriented with organizing, priority setting, problem solving, time management and written communication skills.
- First Aid certification.
- Surface Miner training.
- Confined Space training.
- Working at Heights training.
- LOTS and TO safety training (LOTOTO).
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators where required.
