About the RoleCivicon is seeking an experienced Quality Control Coordinator to support quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across its construction and infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate project-specific quality requirements, inspections, testing, documentation, deficiency tracking, and closeout activities throughout the project lifecycle.
This role requires an organized and detail-oriented individual who can interpret project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements while working closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, testing agencies, and clients.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Quality Control Coordinator’s duties include, but are not limited to:
- Implement and maintain project-specific quality-control plans, procedures, and supporting documentation.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, approved submittals, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality-control activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and maintain inspection checklists, testing records, quality logs, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, testing agencies, and clients.
- Track deficiencies, corrective actions, outstanding quality items, and closeout requirements.
- Follow up with responsible parties to ensure deficiencies and corrective actions are addressed within required timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, material certifications, photographs, approvals, and quality correspondence.
- Prepare quality reports, summaries, and updates for project teams, management, consultants, and clients.
- Participate in project meetings, quality meetings, inspections, and site reviews as required.
- Identify recurring quality concerns and communicate potential risks to the Project Manager.
- Assist project teams with resolving quality-related issues and preventing repeated deficiencies.
- Support the preparation and organization of quality documentation required for project closeout and turnover.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across project teams.
- Work collaboratively with Civicon’s Health and Safety Department and follow established project and site requirements.
- Diploma or degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, construction management, quality management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, construction inspection, project coordination, or a related role.
- Experience with in the construction, civil infrastructure, transit, concrete, sewer and watermain, industrial, or commercial sectors.
- Strong understanding of quality-management systems, inspections, testing, deficiencies, corrective actions, and project documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
