Job Description
The role is responsible for following all requirements as described in the Local Aviation Security MOP and any local regulations.
This position may be called upon to fulfill Alternate Facility Security Coordinator (AFSC) duties when required.
This position requires the use of equipment and adherence to the screening guidelines described in the Aviation Security MOP.

Workdays: Monday to Friday (must be able to work all 5 days of the week)

5:30 PM to 9:00 PM (must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours per week)
Shift Duration: 3 to 5 hours per day (requires flexibility with start and finish time)

Salary Range: $18.15 - $19.13 per hour
Key Responsibilities and Duties SpecificJob Duties (DSA - Designated Screening Area)
- The screener must restrict access to the area to authorized personnel only.
- The screener must enforce proper , challenge, and escort procedures at all times.
- The screener must be in uniform at all times while working in the area.
- After completing the UPS required training, the screener will be in charge of identifying and controlling any possible threat during screening.
- The screener will use a variety of tools and equipment such as X‑ray and ETD machines to complete the task.
- Screening is the employee’s main responsibility while they are at work.
- The screener must fully complete and secure all documentation until released to the Facility Security Coordinator; this includes checklists for equipment maintenance and repair, logs, and any other documentation described in the Aviation Security MOP.
- All equipment must be maintained to keep it fully operational and properly calibrated.
- The screener is responsible for notifying the FSC or local management of any equipment or system failures.
- The screener will keep accurate and complete records as required by the MOP.
- The screener will also manage symbol scanners used throughout the operation.
- The screener is responsible to read, review, and fully understand the Aviation Security MOP.
- The screener must always be fully knowledgeable of the most current updates to the MOP.
- The screener will ensure that every aspect of the program is followed in the Cargo Screening Facility and that it is always in compliance and audit ready.
- The screener must comply with any required training in a timely manner; trainings are time sensitive.
- Screener will be continuously tested and audited to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Screener must meet minimum requirements to maintain qualifications.
- 1 year of previous experience in a warehouse setting, supply chain process, and transportation industry – Required.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg) unassisted; typical package weight ranges from 25-35 lbs.
- Intermediate computer skills:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). - Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to solve complex problems and work under high‑pressure situations.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposed to hot/cold temperatures when working outdoors and in warehouse facilities.
