Position requires frequent or constant travel. The role involves planning routes using GPS and other navigation devices, performing vehicle inspections, loading/unloading goods, and maintaining safety and security of cargo.
Education- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience an asset.
Responsibilities- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Demonstrate professionalism in customer service.
- Load and unload goods.
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
- AZ class license.
- Tractor-trailer.
- Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
- Trip recorder (on-board computer).
- Drive manual transmission vehicle.
- Willing to travel overnight.
- Handling heavy loads.
- Physically demanding.
- Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
