Job Title:

Interim Cost Accountant

Forge Talent is currently engaged with a market-leading PE-backed business based in Bolton, seeking to hire an Interim Cost Accountant. The initial contract duration is 3-6 months, with potential for extension. The role reports to the Head of Finance and is a full-time, in-office position.

Key Responsibilities

Provide actionable financial insights on standard operating costs to improve cost visibility for operational and executive teams.

Design and implement regular cost reporting (weekly, biweekly, monthly) to enhance reporting accuracy and cadence.

Conduct detailed P&L reviews, identifying cost trends and variances to inform strategic decisions.

Analyze cost ledgers to detect anomalies and discrepancies, leading to process improvements and financial integrity.

Candidate Requirements

Qualified or QBE
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly
Excellent attention to detail
Experience working in fast-paced environments
Proficiency with systems and Excel
Immediately available or with one week's notice

The day rate for this role is up to £375 outside IR35.
