Our client, a well-established and growing construction business, is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Administrator to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of both the purchase and sales ledger whilst supporting the wider business with finance and administration. Experience with in the construction sector would be highly desirable.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of both the purchase and sales ledger, ensuring invoices, payments and customer accounts are managed efficiently.
- Managing both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks.
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
- Processing supplier invoices and customer payments
- Obtaining purchase orders and invoice approvals
- Managing finance inboxes and resolving queries promptly
- Credit control, chasing outstanding payments via telephone and email whilst maintaining excellent customer relationships
- Reconciling accounts and investigating discrepancies
- Monitoring customer accounts and agreed credit terms
- Assisting with payroll when required
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
- Raising purchase orders and placing supplier orders
- Making payments via online banking and supplier portals
- Assisting with continuous improvement and implementing new finance processes
- Providing general administration support to the wider business when required
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Administrator, Accounts Assistant.
- Strong knowledge of both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Experience using Xero (Big Change experience would be advantageous but training can be provided)
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word skills
- A strong understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to prioritise a busy workload and work independently
- Experience with in construction would be preferred, although candidates from manufacturing or engineering backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
