Pay:
From £12.55 per hour
Schedule:
30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day.
Shifts rotate every two weeks:
Week 1 – 07:45 – 13:45;
Week 2 – 12:30 – 18:30.
Role:
Trainee GP Receptionist. Full training provided. No prior GP experience required.
- Manage patient appointments (booking, cancelling, rescheduling)
- Welcome patients, greet on arrival
- Answer multi‑line telephone system in a polite, professional manner
- Process patient requests and queries face‑to‑face and over the phone
- Accurately record and update patient information in clinical IT systems
- Communicate confidence and clarity with patients regarding their needs and direct them appropriately
- Use problem‑solving skills to manage challenging or complex patient situations
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and clinical records
- Remain calm under pressure
- Use computer system for data entry, word processing, and dedicated software
- Be naturally polite and approachable
- Work efficiently and accurately in a busy, fast‑paced environment
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Learn and adapt to new procedures
- Work as part of a team and individually

Locations:
Harwood & Tonge Moor Health Centre. The role covers two sites.
Part‑time, temporary with a view to become permanent, hours 07:45 – 18:30 Monday to Friday.
Qualifications- GCSE English – 4 or above
- GCSE Mathematics – 4 or above
- Customer Service Skills
- Proficient in IT and computer use
- Excellent telephone manner

DBS CheckThis position requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. The successful candidate will undergo the associated process.
