Are you a housing finance professional with expertise in rents and service charges? Do you want to use your knowledge to help provide safe, affordable homes and deliver positive outcomes for customers and communities?
We're looking for a Head of Rents and Service Charges to lead this critical specialist function within our housing association. This is a key strategic role, responsible for ensuring our rents and service charges are managed effectively, transparently and in line with regulatory requirements, while supporting the long-term financial sustainability of our organisation. Working at the heart of the business, you'll provide expert leadership on rent setting, service charges, financial controls and compliance, influencing decisions that directly impact customers, colleagues and the services we provide.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with substantial experience in social housing rents and service charges who is looking to shape strategy, lead a high-performing team and drive continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with colleagues across finance, development, asset management and operational services, while building strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders. If you're passionate about combining technical expertise with purpose-driven work, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic delivery of rents and service charge services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
Oversee annual rent reviews, service charge setting, budgeting, reconciliations and reporting processes for tenants, leaseholders and commercial customers.
Provide expert advice and guidance on rents, service charges, financial controls and related operational matters across the organisation.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, local authority partners, auditors and other stakeholders to support service excellence and positive outcomes.
Lead, support and develop colleagues, creating an inclusive and collaborative environment where people can thrive and perform at their best.
Drive continuous improvement by reviewing processes, strengthening controls and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and value for money.
Support long-term financial planning, energy management initiatives and key business projects that contribute to sustainable service delivery.

What you'll need to succeed
Significant experience managing rents and service charges within social housing, a regulated environment or a similarly complex organisation.
Experience leading and developing teams, with the ability to support, motivate and empower others.
Strong knowledge of financial controls, governance, management accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and influence a range of stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and make informed decisions.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, alongside a customer-focused approach and a willingness to embrace continuous learning and improvement.
