As the HARP project develops, we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Section Engineer to join the team. Take a look at the job description below.

Qualifications
  • Section Engineer experience gained on UK infrastructure.
  • Proven record in civil construction on infrastructure schemes.
  • Strong working knowledge of surveying/setting‑out, QA/ITPs, and temporary works coordination.
  • Experience with digital record‑keeping and stakeholder communication.
  • Working towards accreditation, such as IENG for the ICE.
  • CSCS.
  • Knowledge of NRSWA.
  • SSSTS.
  • Temporary Works Supervisor.
  • First Aid at Work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and sequence your section of work (method statements, RAMS, permits), ensuring programme certainty.
  • Oversee subcontractor setting‑out and survey control, providing assurance checks; manage as‑built, red‑line, and test/inspection records against ITPs.
  • Ensure subcontractor safe systems of work are implemented, and support the team in ensuring compliance.
  • Be accountable for ensuring the subcontractor quality documentation is implemented and adhered to.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and establish processes to provide certainty on construction compliance.
  • Coordinate temporary works design and permits on the highway; maintain safe systems and public protection.
  • Support with the management of subcontractors, daily briefings, progress tracking, and short‑term look‑aheads.
  • Interface with utilities teams for crossings/diversions; embed HSG
    47 controls and Permit‑to‑Dig.
  • Assist with the development and preparation of any documentation – produce ITPs, RAMs and VTS as needed.
  • Temporary Works Supervisor for responsible package of work.
  • Support with the ordering of any material and equipment needed to deliver the works.
  • Support the Engineering team by raising any required RFIs, change requests, or non‑conformances for sign‑off.
  • Production of certification and handover of relevant documents.
  • Support with the development and maintenance of 4‑week look‑ahead programmes, and monitor progress.
  • Support with the preparation of any documentation required for consents. Ensure the works comply with any consent obligations.
